P90x

Power 90 Extreme, or P90X, is a home video workout program part of the P90 series. P90X is exercise company Beachbody's most popular exercise series, used by an estimated 2 million people. The '90' in name refers to the program's promise of becoming physically fit in 90 days. Other P90 workout series include Power 90, P90 Master Series, P90 Master Series 2, P90X+, and P90X One-on-One.

About P90x

P90X is known for its rigorous exercises. Developed by Tony Horton, the program calls its workout philosophy muscle confusion. By utilzing a variety of strength, cardio, yoga, and stretching exercising, and by changing the demands of each exercise, the movements required, and their order within the routine, P90X claims the body cannot learn to adapt to the exercise and so can never plateau.

The program follows a six days-a-week schedule, with most routines lasting from 15 min. to 50 min., depending on intensity (the exercise 'Yoga X' is the only 90 minute segment). Apart from exercises, P90X also includes a nutrition plan in three 30-day phases. Phase 1 focuses on higher protein and lower carb counts. Phase 2 increases carbohydrates. Phase 3 finishes with an 'athlete's diet' for sustained energy and physical achievement.
