Pet Stores are retail stores that sell pets and pet supplies. They can be a great place to find all sorts of stuff to spoil your pet. Most pet stores carry pet food, toys, treats, cages and pet beds. Pet stores also carry pets snakes, hamsters, frogs, turtles, guinea pigs, ferrets, rabbits, parrots and other birds, fish and even spiders. Pet stores can also be an excellent resource for pet care education.

The most well-known pet store chains are PETCO and Petsmart. You may also find local, family owned pet stores that have been around for many years and have great reputations. There are also many online pet stores, including Petfooddirect.com, Petsmart.com, Petmarket.com, Coolpetstuff.com, Healthypets.com and Dog.com.

The Humane Society of the United States urges people not to buy puppies from pet stores, as many acquire dogs from puppy mills.
