About Pink

Known for: Singer/Songwriter

Alecia Moore, aka Pink, began her career as a teenage girl. When she was she was 16, she and two other teenagers came together to form the band Choice. The group caught the ear of producer L.A. Reid who signed the girls to his label. They recorded the song Key to My Heart which was featured in the Kazzam’ movie soundtrack. The band broke up after two short years without ever releasing an album.

After the band’s breakup, Pink decided to set out on her own and recorded her first album, Can’t Take Me Home.' It was a big hit selling five million copies worldwide, and it contained the singles There You Go and Most Girls.

2001 also proved to be a great year for her career. She sang alongside fellow female artists Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliot, Lil Kim and Mya to record the song Lady Marmalade for the Moulin Rouge’ soundtrack. The ladies won a MTV Music Award and a Grammy for their collaboration. In the same year, Pink also released her second album, M!ssunderstood’ which sold over 15 million copies around the globe.

Pink went on to record three more albums and one Greatest Hits compilation, each one allowing Pink to show the world exactly who she is. The award winning artist believes in not conforming to what others want, but believing in who you truly are and showing it off to the world. Her message shines in her lyrics, which often reflect her own life experiences.
