PUMA

PUMA

PUMA (PUMA AG Rudolf Dassler Sport) is a multinational company based in Germany that produces high-end athletic shoes, footwear and other sportswear. The company was founded in 1924 by Rudolf Dassler and is headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany.

About PUMA

PUMA is known for its football(soccer) shoes and has sponsored footballers, including Pelé, Eusébio, Johan Cruijff, Enzo Francescoli, Diego Maradona, Lothar Matthäus, Kenny Dalglish, Didier Deschamps and Gianluigi Buffon. PUMA is also the sponsor of the Jamaican three-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt who broke the men's 100m, 200m and 4x100m world records in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. PUMA is the main producer of driving shoes and race suits. They are the prime producer in both Formula One and NASCAR especially.

To kick off an ambitious long-term sustainability plan to reduce its carbon emissions and waste, PUMA has redesigned the shoe box. They decided to get rid of the box altogether and have introduced to the world a newer, greener way to ship shoes - the Clever Little Bag.

This bag uses 65% less cardboard than the standard shoe box, has no tissue paper, zero laminated printing, and weighs significantly less when shipping. It is also non-woven, which requires less work for assembly, and because it is stitched with heat, produces less waste. The Clever Little Bag is also 100% recyclable. With the Clever Little Bag, water, energy and fuel consumption for the company will be reduced by more then 60% annually!
