Sarah Palin

Sarah Louise [Heath] Palin, born Feb. 11, 1964, in Sandpoint, Idaho, is an American politician, public speaker, and author who served as Governor of Alaska from 2006 until her resignation in 2009. She was John McCain's running mate in the 2008 Presidential election.

About Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin is a Republican politician and Tea Party supporter. Palin burst into the national press when Republican Presidential candidate Sen. John McCain announced Palin for Vice President in 2008 Presidential campaign. A divisive figure, she attracted a passionate, conservative following. But there was also widely held criticism that she was not well-prepared or experienced enough to serve as Vice President.

Her political positions are in line with Republican standards. She is a strong supporter of Israel, increasing funding in defense spending, supports 2nd amendment rights, and is against same-sex marriages, abortion and the health care reform act

Sarah has had success outside of politics. In November 2009, she released a best-selling autobiography called 'Going Rogue: An American Life'. In 2010, she became a political commentator for Fox News. She hosted her own TV show called 'Sarah Palin's Alaska,' which was not renewed after its first season. Palin has been married to Todd Palin, who is a commercial fisherman, since 1988. They have five children: Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, and Trig.
