About shopkick

Shopkick Inc. makes a mobile shopping app that offers customers rewards for walking into stores. The shopkick smartphone app (iPhone, Android) gives users points (called "kicks") when they walk into participating stores (partners include Target, Macys, Old Navy and Crate & Barrel), pick up merchandise from P&G, Disney, Levi's and other brands (by scanning the barcodes with their smartphone cameras) and make purchases. Kicks can be redeemed across all partner stores for gift card rewards, iTunes song downloads, movie tickets or Facebook Credits. Users can also receive special discounts on specific products at partners stores. National retail partners in the loyalty program include Target, Best Buy, Macy's, Crate & Barrel, Old Navy, American Eagle, Sports Authority, Toys R Us, Simon Malls and others, and 40 brands (P&G, Unilever, Kraft, Colgate, Clorox, Disney, HP, Intel). Shopkick earns a small fee for each kick a customer earns. If a customer buys something after using the app, shopkick gets a percentage of the price. Shopkick, based in Palo Alto, Calif., has investors that include a fund set up for mobile apps by the venture-capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, as well
