About Sigma Lambda Phi

The Sigma Lambda Phi (fraternity, sorority and confraternity )(also known as Lambdans, UNO, SLP) is an honor society of scholars, student leaders and professionals and was founded on August 3, 1948 in the Philippines. Sigma Lambda Phi was founded on August 3, 1933, by Sergio Lopez Paredes. The society later was described as an Honor Society of Scholars and Student Leaders. Sigma Lambda Phi of the Philippines claims to be tracing their history from a now-defunct sorority also named Sigma Lambda Phi in Duquesne University at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA that was founded somewhere between 1933-1934. However, it was reported that Sigma Lambda Phi in the United States has no legal connection of Sigma Lambda Phi of the Philippines, as the former was a sorority and not a confraternity unlike the latter's claim.
