Soyjoy is a baked snack bar manufactured by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Company, based in Japan. Rather than using wheat or whole-grain-based flour for the snack bar, Soyjoy uses non-genetically modified whole soy beans. The bars were introduced in Japan in 2004 and became extremely popular. In late 2006, a second manufacturing facility was started up in Santa Clarita California to produce for the United States market. In 2009, sales topped 11 million bars. New flavors are under development which include Orange, Blueberry, Banana, and Jalapeno.
