About Springs & Geysers

A spring is a component of the hydrosphere. Specifically, it is any natural situation where water flows to the surface of the Earth from underground. Thus, a spring is a site where the aquifer surface meets the ground surface. A geyser is a spring characterized by intermittent discharge of water ejected turbulently and accompanied by a vapour phase (steam).
