Starving yourself is very detrimental to your health. It is no way to start a diet or lose weight. To starve yourself is very self destructive. Starvation can lead to organ failure and death. In order to lose weight, you need to follow a healthy diet plan and moderate exercise.

Starvation diets pose a threat to your health. However, some doctors may prescribe such diets for certain life threatening illnesses like morbid obesity. But these patients are closely monitored and under the care of a physician at all times.

Starvation Diet Side Effects:
Fatigue occurs when you deprive the body of its primary fuel source from eating carbohydrates.
Gallstones occur when the starvation raises cholesterol and your gall bladder doesn’t work properly.
Cardiovascular Conditions such as heart attack, heart failure and strokes can occur due to starvation and it may even cause brain damage.

Anorexia Nervosa is an eating disorder suffered by many people. It is a disorder which limits the amount of food intake causing people to not be able to maintain a healthy body weight. They basically starve themselves. People with this disorder will tend to starve themselves and exercise excessively and may even purge (throw up) frequently. Symptoms of this disorder include insomnia, fatigue, dizziness, brittle nails, hair loss, dry skin and constipation. Medical help will be necessary to over come this.

If you think you can starve yourself skinny you are wrong. When you starve yourself your body fights back and holds onto the fat for survival. Your body knows it is wrong to starve. Consult your health care provider about dieting and he or she can help plan a diet and exercise program that works for you.
