Sugarland is a country music duo comprised of Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles. They top the charts while they struggle with legal issues caused from the resignation of an original member, Kirsten Hall, who is suing the band.

About Sugarland

Sugarland is the music duo of Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles that has been taking the country music world by storm. Fans are flocking to their shows and the venues in which they are performing sell out quickly.

Sugarland was formed in 2002 by Kristen Hall. Originally a trio, the group consisted of Hall, Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles. Together they wrote the songs that got them signed by Mercury Nashville Records in 2004. Their debut single Baby Girl’ was an instant hit and their album Twice the Speed of Life went multi-platinum. The future was looking good for Sugarland.

In 2006 came the announcement that Kristen Hall would be leaving the band to stay home and write songs (Dayton Daily News). The band as a trio continued on and fans accepted the change. The duo released their new album Enjoy the Ride’ and fans proved their love for the music when the album sold 21,000 copies within the first week. Singles from their second album were Want To’, Settlin’, Everyday America’ and Stay’. In 2008 a third album was released which sold over 2 million copies.

In 2008 former member Kristen Bell filed a lawsuit against Sugarland claiming she was not receiving her share of profits stemming from a partnership that was supposedly agreed upon. She also alleges that she created the name Sugarland and the band's continued usage of the name was also part of the partnership. Bell is suing for the $1.5 million which she claims is owed to her. The trial is scheduled to begin in federal court on November 15th, 2010.

Despite their legal troubles, the duo is forging ahead with their music. Their fourth album The Incredible Machine’ releases on October 19, 2010. The first single from the album was released on July 26, 2010. Stuck Like Glue’ debuted at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100.
