About Super Hero

When someone says the words super hero most people picture a tight fitting costume, extraordinary powers and a desire to fend off the evil villains that plague the planet earth or the universe at large. They are handsome, muscular and unstoppable.
Many of us secretly wish that either we could be those superheroes we picture, or that someday a super hero will swoop in and save us from impending doom.

One of the earliest super heroes is Superman. Superman was created by writer Jerry Siegel in 1932 and sold to DC Comics in 1938. The successes of The Man of Steel lead to the boom of the super hero genre and spawned such characters as Batman, Captain Marvel and Spiderman.

In addition to comic books, the super hero trend has spawned numerous box-office hits. Batman has been a fixture in the film industry with 15 movies being made featuring The Caped Cruisader. The last decade has seen numerous profitable films starring superheroes including Iron Man’ (2008), Spiderman (2002), X-Men (2000), The Fantastic Four’ (2005) and Watchmen (2009) just to name a few.

*Spiderman – agile, quick reflexes and spider-like capabilities such as casting webbing and clinging to most surfaces
*Batman – extremely intelligent and appears to have super powers although he does not
*Wolverine – heightened senses like an animal, has bone claws sharp as razors that pop out of his knuckles
*The Hulk – transforms into green mass of muscle with unlimited strength when angered
*Wonder Woman – has super strength, super speed can fly and has a lasso that makes people tell the truth when they are bound by it.
*Green Lantern – has a ring that summons pure willpower which can be used for anything including flying, blasts of energy and forcefields
*Captain America – super physical strength and an indestructible shield
Spawn – regeneration, shape-changing, can fly, teleportation and an armored body of which he has complete mental control of
*Punisher – marksman of many guns, excellent combat skills, very intellectual
