T.I. grew up in Atlanta, GA and has had a successful hip-hop career while simultaneously dealing with some major legal problems. T.I. was arrested in 2007 on gun possession and again in 2010 on possession of ecstasy and sizzurp.

About T.I.

Known for: Hip-Hop recording artist, record producer and CEO of Grand Hustle Records

T.I. was raised by his grandparents in Atlanta, GA. He started rapping at age seven and began selling drugs in his early teens, leading him to be arrested several times by age fourteen. His nickname was Tip when he signed with Arista Records, but he changed it to T.I. to avoid confusion with Q-tip of the group A Tribe Called Quest.

T.I. and wife Tameka Tiny Cottle were arrested September 1, 2010 in L.A. on possession of Ecstasy and sizzurp (codeine cough syrup mixed with soda). Later it was found that they also were holding marijuana.

T.I.'s 7th album, 'King Uncaged,' was released September 28, 2010. T.I. collaborated with many artists on this album including Lady Gaga, and the album features the singles 'Im Back' and 'Got Your Back.'
