About Taxes
There are many types of taxes: income, sales, sin, and corporate. Most individuals in the United States deal with at least two of the first three taxes, whereas corporations deal with the latter. An income tax can be levied by the Federal government, the State and the municipality someone live in. It is typically a percentage of what you earn in a fiscal year. A sales tax occurs when someone purchases a commodity, the tax is added on to the price of the good. A sin tax is a tax created by the government to discourage a certain behavior, such as smoking.
