The Cure is an alternative rock band from England that formed in the late 1970's by lead singer Robert Smith. They are credited with inspiring the gothic rock genre.

About The Cure

The Cure formed in 1976 and released their first album 'Three Imaginary Boys' in 1979. They built up a small following that expanded dramatically throughout the 1980's.

In 1986, The Cure released 'Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me' and broke into the American mainstream. The single Just Like Heaven was a major success and enjoyed an extended period on the Billboard top 40.

The Cure have released 13 studio albums and have sold over 27 million records worldwide. Robert Smith remains the only founding member in the band.
