About The Game

'The Game' is an American comedy drama TV series, spun off from the show 'Girlfriends'. It first aired October 1, 2006 on The CW network, and ran until May of 2009 when it was canceled by The CW. The executive producers were Kelsey Grammer, and Kenny Smith, Jr., along with Mara Brock Akil, the shows creator.

Following its cancellation, though, the series was picked up by BET (Black Entertainment Television) for syndication. The reruns gained new followers so the network decided to license new episodes. Scheduled to begin in January 2011 and to run until 2013, BET was negotiated with cast members to reprise their roles on the show.

'The Game' revolves around three young women who are in relationships with professional football players, particularly Melanie who gives up an offer of admission to John Hopkins School of Medicine in order to follow her boyfriend to San Diego. By the end of the third season she weds her boyfriend Derwin Davis. The fictional football team is called the San Diego Sabers.

'The Game' Stars:
Tia Mowry Hardrict as Melanie Barnett
Brittany Daniel as Kelley Pitts
Wendy Raquel Robinson as Latasha Tasha Mack
