About Tina Fey

Known for: Tina is most famous for her role in the hit TV series, '30 Rock' and her impersonation of Sarah Palin

She also made audiences laugh during the 2008 presidential elections with her humorous depiction/mockery of Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, for which she won an Emmy Award. Tina is an comedic actress, writer, and producer. She started her TV career with 'Saturday Night Live' and has acted in films such as 'Baby Mama', 'Mean Girls', and most recently 'Date Night', co-starring Steve Carell.

Tina's only sibling is Peter Fey who eight years older. She is of Greek, German, and Scottish ancestry. Her parents, Zenovia and Donald, exposed her to comedy early watching 'Saturday Night Live' and 'Monty Python' films, among others. She graduated high school in 1988 and enrolled at the University of Virginia, where she studied play writing and acting, and graduated with a BA degree in drama. After she moved to Chicago, she joined up with a comedic improvisation group. It was there that she met the head writer for Saturday Night Live (SNL), and just a couple years later she was hired on as a comedic writer for SNL. In 1999, she was promoted and became the first female head writer in the history of the show. In 2006, she created '30 Rock'. It has since become a hit TV series winning an Emmy Award in 2007.

Throughout her career, she has won seven Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, four Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four Writers Guild of America Awards. In 2008, she was named by the Associated Press as the performer who had the greatest impact on culture and entertainment and she received their AP Entertainer of the Year award. She was named number 80 on the Hot 100 List in Maxim magazine in 2002. In 2003, People Magazine put her on the 50 Most Beautiful People list, and again in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

Fey has been married to Jeff Richmond since 2001. They have one daughter, Alice Zenobia Richmond, who was born in 2005. The family resides in NYC's Upper West Side.
