About Tobacco

In the United States, the states Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee and Pennsylvania have the most tobacco farms. Tobacco growers can also be found in Ohio, South Carolina, Indiana, Georgia, Wisconsin and Connecticut. Tobacco farms have been shrinking over time. This is not only related to the decline of smoking within our country but also due to cigarette companies' choosing to buy foreign tobacco.

Tobacco usage has declined in the recent years. The public has become more conscious of the health risks of using tobacco. The most common form of tobacco usage is smoking. Smoking can cause lung cancer, heart attacks, pulmonary disease, emphysema and strokes. Using smokeless tobacco in the form of dip, chew or snuff can lead to cancers of the mouth.
