The Books

The 'Twilight' series originated in the mind of author Stephenie Meyer. First published in October 2005, the Young Adult fantasy romance series about teenage vampires soon gained a passionate following.

Stephenie Meyer as an author defines dedication to her work. 'Twilight' was rejected by fourteen publishing agents before being picked up by Little, Brown and Company. The book debuted at #5 on the New York Times Best Seller List, and jumped to #1 in the first month of its release. 'Twilight' has sold more than 91 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 37 languages.

This book introduces us to a young seventeen year old Isabella Bella Swan. Bella moves from Phoenix, Arizona to Forks, Washington. She soon finds her life in danger when she falls in love with Edward Cullen, who happens to be a 108 year old vampire. Cullen was bitten by a vampire when he was seventeen years old back in 1918. That is only the beginning of their story...The series consists of four books: 'Twilight', 'New Moon', 'Eclipse', and 'Breaking Dawn'.

'Twilight' (2008)

The Twilight Saga movies, building on the audience established by the book series, have become a major pop-culture phenomenon. The movie tries to remain true to the novel, following seventeen year old Bella, who moves from sunny Arizona to dreary Forks, Washington to live with her father. Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, saves the life of Bella, Stewart, in the school parking lot. Bella begins to question how Cullen was able to stop the van with his hand. After much prying, she discovers that he and his family are vampires.

The chief drama of the series involves Bella and Edward's mutual attraction, and Edward's will of steel which keeps him from harming her. Or will it?

'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' (2009)

'New Moon' is the second film in 'The Twilight Saga' franchise that seems to be taking over the World. In the follow-up, Bella is having her eighteenth birthday party. The Cullen's throw Bella a party. Bella receives a paper cut that drives Edward's brother, Jasper, crazy enough to try to kill Bella.

Edward and his family leave Forks, Washington for fear that one of them will harm a human. This drives Bella into a deep depression. She becomes so withdrawn that her father attempts to send her to Florida to live with her mother. Bella begins to hang out with friends again and realizes that thrill-seeking activities evoke Edward's warnings. Edward moves back to Forks. Bella is faced with the decision of whether to become a vampire or not.

'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on March 20, 2010 via midnight release parties. The Ultimate Fan Edition, only available at Wal-Mart, will include a 7 minute first look at the upcoming sequel, 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.'
