Founded September 27, 1960, the Vikings have become one of the most elite football teams to participate in the NFL. In their first year alone, the Vikings sold 26,000 season tickets and had an average home attendance of 34,586, or about 85% of their 40,800 seats.

The Vikings first reached the play-offs in 1968 and have been back 26 times, including an NFL Championship in 1969, Conference Championships in 1969, 1973, 1974, and 1976. The Vikings also have 18 Division Championships.

The Vikings play their home games on the Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The official headquarters of the franchise is located in Winter Park in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Since the Vikings became part of the NFL, their jerseys have not changed much. Their colors are purple, gold, and white. Their fight song is Skol, Vikings and their mascot is Viktor the Viking, Ragnar. The majority owner of the Vikings is Zygi Wilf. The president of the Vikings is Mark Wilf and the general manager is Rick Spielman.
