White Stripes

The White Stripes were a garage rock band from Detroit consisting of the fake brother and sister duo, Jack and Meg White. They formed in 1997 and launched into the mainstream with the release of their album 'White Blood Cells.' They broke up in 2011.

About White Stripes

The White Stripes formed in Detroit in 1997 by Jack and Meg White. They didn't find mainstream success until the 2001 release of the album 'White Blood Cells.' It contained the hit single ''Fell in Love with a Girl.''

Jack White also plays in the bands The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs as well as owning the indie label Third Man Records.

The band announced it was breaking up in February of 2011.
