Wisconsin is a Midwestern state in the United States bordered by Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Lake Michigan, Upper Michigan, and Lake Superior. The state has a humid continental climate with cold winters and warm summers. Wisconsin has a total of 72 counties.

About Wisconsin

After the American Revolutionary War in 1783 Wisconsin became a territorial possession of the United States. The economy flourished with lead mining and trading in the area. Most of the Native American Indian population was driven out after the Winnebago War of 1827 and the Black Hawk War in 1832. Wisconsin was admitted to the union on May 29,1848 as the 30th state with a total land area of 65,498 sq miles.

Madison is the capital city of Wisconsin with Milwaukee being the largest city. Wisconsin is also known as The Badger State. The state bird is the Robin, the state flower is the Wood Violet, and the state tree is the Sugar Maple. The state motto of Wisconsin is Forward.

Wisconsin has much more to offer than just cheese! The beer connoisseur will not want to miss the Lakefront Brewery in Milkwaukee.
