X-Men

X-Men

Marvel Comics X-Men have spawned an entire media world, starting with their origins in comic books. The characters can now be found in a TV series, video games, a series of movies, not to mention action figures lining the shelves of every toy store. The X-gene in each X-Men mutant imparts to them special powers.

About X-Men

The X-Men are a Marvel Comics superhero team. Each mutant has his or her own individual and unique powers, which results in their being recruited by Dr. Xavier into his school of higher learning designed specifically for mutants. The training program teaches the mutants to use their powers for the benefit of humanity to prove that mutants can be heros instead of dangerous criminals.

The name "X-Men" comes from the mutated gene called the X-Gene that each mutant has. Early issues of the comic book series introduced an arch enemy named Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants, who would continuously battle for X-Men for decades. The X-Men have been featured in several different forms of media including a TV series, video games, movie trilogy, and the X-Men: Origins movie which featured the life story of Wolverine.
