Zooey Deschanel is possibly best known for her role as Jess in the TV sitcom "New Girl", though she has starred in numerous TV shows and films since the late 1990s. Deschanel's first break came in 2000's "Almost Famous". Starring roles in films such as "Elf", "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", "Yes Man" and "(500) Days of Summer" cemented Deschanel's status as a movie star. Outside from acting, Deschanel is also an accomplished musician. She has sung in many of her films, done cabaret and in 2008 released her first album as a member of the duo She & Him, which has performed well on US Charts. Their second album "Volume Two" peaked at #6 in the US.

Besides singing, she plays keyboards, percussion, banjo and ukulele.
